Meeting In Summer
LibriVox volunteers bring you 20 recordings of Meeting In Summer by Madison Julius Cawein.
This was the Weekly Poetry project for July 27, 2025.
------
Cawein is acknowledged as the first Kentucky poet to earn a national reputation. His poetry allied his love of nature with a devotion to earlier English and European literature, mythology, and classical allusion. After his death at a young age, however, he was mostly forgotten until a more recent revival recognized the farsightedness of his writing. - Summary by Wikipedia
