George Sand presents a novel containing one of her favorite crafts, besides creating wonderful literary works. This one involves the making and staging of marionettes; an art which she and her children engaged in at Nohant, her country home to entertain themselves and their honored guests. It contains, as well, the story of a multiplicity of evils foiled! (Summary by Christine Rottger )
