Joe Vickers, a young man of humble circumstances, was a strong and conscientious worker for the railroad. Starting as a Wiper, he took advantage of his chance to become a Fireman and even an Engineer just as his father was. Joe shows his honesty, ingenuity, and courage are well-suited to overcome any evil that comes his way. (Summary by Keith Salis)
